A resident returning to a welcoming home

How often your property should be checked depends on how long you are away, the condition of the home, the season, known issues and what needs to be looked after while you are gone.

For many absences, checking the home about once a week is a useful starting point. Some homes may need more attention, while others may need less.

Start with how long you will be away

The longer a home is left unattended, the more opportunity there is for a small change to go unnoticed.

As a simple starting point:

  • a short trip may need only a small number of visits
  • several weeks away may justify roughly weekly checks
  • longer or repeated absences may be better suited to ongoing care

The goal is not to visit for the sake of visiting. It is to avoid leaving long gaps during which an issue could remain unnoticed.

Consider the condition of your home

Your home may benefit from more frequent attention if there is already something worth watching.

Examples include:

  • a recent AC issue
  • rooms that tend to become hot or humid
  • a history of minor leaks
  • plants that need regular watering
  • a parked car you want checked
  • expected packages or deliveries
  • a property that has recently had maintenance work
  • a nearby garden, park, or lake
  • direct exposure to sunlight and heat

If there is a known concern, decide before traveling what should be observed and what would trigger action.

Think about the season and property type

A home in Dubai may behave differently depending on the time of year.

During hotter and more humid periods, AC operation, indoor temperature and humidity may deserve closer attention.

Villas may also have additional areas to consider, such as:

  • irrigation systems
  • gardens
  • water tanks
  • outdoor areas
  • parked vehicles

An apartment may have fewer external systems but can still develop AC, humidity, leak or pest issues while empty.

Decide what each visit should actually achieve

Frequency matters, but the quality and consistency of the check matter just as much.

Before you leave, decide what should be checked each time, for example:

  • property condition
  • AC operation
  • temperature and humidity
  • visible leaks or water damage
  • kitchen and perishables
  • pest signs
  • packages
  • plants or other agreed tasks

A clear checklist makes repeated visits much more useful than an informal “quick look around.”

Avoid very long gaps without a reason

If you are away for several months, booking only one or two checks may leave long periods when nobody knows what is happening inside the property.

On the other hand, visiting very frequently may not provide much extra value for a stable home with no special needs.

A sensible schedule balances:

  • the length of the absence
  • the home's condition
  • known risks
  • tasks that need regular attention
  • your own level of reassurance

When should you consider more frequent checks?

You may want to shorten the gap between visits when:

  • there is a known issue being monitored
  • unusual humidity has already been observed
  • recent maintenance has been completed
  • plants need frequent care
  • you are expecting deliveries
  • an earlier visit identified something that needs watching

In those cases, the visit schedule can be adjusted rather than treating every absence exactly the same.

A simple planning checklist

Before choosing a visit schedule, ask yourself:

  • How many weeks will the home be unattended?
  • Are there any known AC, humidity or water concerns?
  • Do plants or other items need regular attention?
  • Are packages or deliveries expected?
  • Has any recent maintenance work been completed?
  • Is there anything you specifically want monitored?
  • Who can act if a visit finds something unusual?

How Jaari can help

Jaari uses approximately weekly Home Care as a starting point when recommending a plan.

Based on your selected service period, the booking flow recommends the smallest available package that provides roughly weekly care and remains valid through the end of your service period.

You can choose another eligible package if it better suits your home.

Available Home Care plans include:

  • 2 visits
  • 4 visits
  • 6 visits
  • 8 visits
  • 12 visits
  • 16 visits

For longer-term regular care, Ongoing Home Care provides four visits per service month.

During your free Home & Access Handover, Jaari records the checkpoints, access arrangements and instructions for your home. Jaari then schedules the visits internally and sends you a clear report after each one.
